First impressions are important, so you want to make the exterior of your home as attractive as possible. It doesn't matter if you're looking to sell or just want to give your home's exterior a fresh look! Here are some easy and affordable curb appeal tips that can help make your home stand out this spring.
1. REPAINT YOUR FRONT DOOR
Painting your front door can add some brightness and instantly revive the look of your entry.
2. WASH YOUR WINDOWS INSIDE & OUT
You would be surprised how much brighter (and cleaner) your home will look with sparkling clean windows.
3. WEED FLOWER BEDS, MULCH, & TRIM PLANTS
No matter what you’ve got growing in your front yard, make sure it’s neat and tidy, and add fresh mulch.
4. POWER WASH YOUR WALKWAY & SIDING
Rent a pressure washer from your local hardware store and clean the driveway, walkways, fences, gutters, and siding... you can even wash your patio furniture!
5. UPDATE PORCH LIGHTS & ADD WELCOME MAT
Replace crooked, outdated, or rusty porch lights with something new and modern, and swap out your front door mat. Don't have a covered entryway? Ruggable has a great, washable, outdoor mat.
✔️ PAY ADDITIONAL PRINCIPLE IN YOUR MORTGAGE PAYMENT
By making additional payments, or paying above your minimum payment, you’re building equity in the home by paying down the principal. Another option is to set up bi-weekly mortgage payments. This Is the option to make half a month’s payment every 2 weeks instead of making 12 monthly payments in full every year. Each year, this method adds one extra month’s payment (13 payments per year), that’s applied to your loan's principal.
✔️ REFINANCE TO A SHORTER LOAN TERM
Taking out a 15-year mortgage, or refinancing into one from a 30-year loan, piles on the equity — and at a lower interest rate. But remember, there's a catch: Your monthly payments are higher with a 15-year home loan.
✔️ INVEST IN HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Increase the property value of your home by completing renovations!
